There are a few differences, none of which are that major, but they are enough to make a difference. One of the main differences is that the new one has a fixed upright bell instead of the removeable bell. This makes it a lot lighter and seems to open up the sound. They also changed some of the tubing to open up the wrap which seems to have opened up the low end. I believe that the leadpipe is mounted higher than on the old one. I found the leadpipe much too low on my old one, but it seems to fall right in place on the new one.
