My son played one all through college and won several prizes and was beatenonly by Somner Erickson in the ITEC competition all using an Amati stencil (Piper) F. I also used it for several years (it was stolen in 1984 or 1985) and liked it very much. It is the only F tuba I played extensively but it was as good as many others I tried in various length playing sessions. I own a Willson EEb now and think the Willson is a much better horn making me wonder if the Willson F is that much better than the Piper F was.
