Yes, these darn things can cause serious trouble!
But: There´s one thing I haven´t read here so far: as long as they´re NOT causing trouble and come in nice and straight, make sure you take good care of those bummers, since - while beeing able to push front-wards when they´re not straight - straight wisdom-teeth help stabelise the whole set of teeth by catching the pressure and vibration coming from the embouchure-area and tranferring it safely to the rear ancle of the jaw-bone. They manage so by sitting right between the last of the rear teeth and the bone and by their mostly VERY stong "anchoring" in the bone beneath them.
As many have said: If there´s trouble, get rid of them before problems get really serious! Have them checked out!
But as long as they´re in good shape you want to be nice to them!
