This picture is much better.

It reveals the extra turn on the 1st valve tubing, so that it no longer looks like dimenioned for an F tuba.

Relative measurements are also made more possible, as the picture is not skewed. Comparison between the full body length, told to be 53 cm, and the 2nd slide length, which should be just under 40 cm/2 for a BBb, also points towards this instrument being in BBb.

Tornister was the term for the fairly small and square backpack in which German and Austrian carried their personal field equipment.

Two almost identical instruments from two different makers do point towards more relaxed, if any at all, attitudes on the copyright matter back then 100+ years ago. Apparently craftsmen and apprentices were very good at taking notes, while working for an inventuous master.
