Great and interesting report. I'm going to print out parts about the repairs and take them to my repairer along with my horn (983)

Most interesting is this "bevelling". Now, to what extent "do you bevel"? Traditionally a bevel is 45 degrees. Would a greater angle (bevel going further into tube) be better. How much do you bevel? 1/2 the thickness of the tube wall or all the way to the edge, creating a sharp round blade effect with your tuning slide?

Might seem particular my questions but when you don't know, you gotta ask.

There was a bit a chat about not doing all the slides. How do you know wether you need to do it or not (main tuning slide in general)?
