Please read what past participants have posted on the tubenet:

*At the risk of presenting an unabashed plug, the week that I just spent with Brian Bowman, Ted Cox, Sam Pilafian, and Deanna Swoboda was FANTASTIC! This program welcomes tuba and euphonium players of all ages and playing levels in a truly supportive, non-competitive atmosphere. The faculty are known as excellent musicians, but they are also deeply caring, enthusiastic, energetic educators. Concentration and musical achievement are high, and comraderie among the faculty and participants pervades the entire week.

* Everybody should check into this workshop next summer...it's great! It is at the University of Oklahoma, and run by Sam Pilafian, Brian Bowman, Ted Cox, and Deanna Swoboda. Had a few students go last year, and they thought it was incredible... check it out!

*The workshop is limited in participants for a better faculty/student ratio. One of the unique aspects to this workshop is the contact with the faculty. We don't leave to go to our hotel to get away from the students at the end of the day. We ALL stay in the dorms with the students. We eat every meal, all week long with the students. When the day is finished, many of us go to a local college "hang-out" only one block from the dorm for some late night hang time. The students have many opportunities for direct contact with the faculty.
Ted Cox

*Attendees in the July 11-17, 1999 session ranged in age from 14 to 70-something. Playing abilities included one tubist who was struggling with notes above G on the staff through to full-time service band members and Falcone semi-finalists. It is noteworthy that there were many participants returning for their second year of the Workshop, and 18 of the 43 participants stayed for the second weeklong session (July 18-25).

To enroll, simply call us at (405) 325-1947 or 1-800-522-0772, ext. 1947. www.cafe.ou.edu/tubaworkshop
