I study with Charlie Schuchat and sometimes Gene Pokorny gives masterclasses. The playing ensembles are in bad shape, the quality of student is decent however the quality of their attitudes is not!!! It would be nice to play with a group of musicians that like to make music and don't complain about how much they practice and don't want to be in another group. Sorry had to vent there for a second.
over all I am extremely happy with the classes and my privte lessons, not to mention you can't beat the location, orchestra hall is 2 blocks away and I have heard the CSO almost every program on the schedule as well as all the visiting orchestras and some great soloists too.
If you can get through the hacking of the playing ensembles and find something else to motivte you to play well in them then the experience is great. I think, well for me it has been, I hope!
