This is a golden sousaphone, made by Emmenee (sp?) as part of a set of toy facsimilie instruments made in the 50's or 60's. Klaus is right, it has vibrating reeds like a harmonica. I have seen many of these in antique stores selling for as much as $75-$100. I can't remember the exact company name, but is something like that above.
