You're on to a good thing I believe. I always my warm-up, Rochuts, Kopprach etc. on CC before I do anything on F. I play a 5/4 Rudy CC, which is not an instrument where you just blow, and things happen. It's fairly ruthless if you slack off on your airflow. Therefore, if things are working on the Rudy, then they'll happen extra easy on my B&S F.

As for your excerpts, getting them to sound good on your CC first, should make them very easy to play on your F. Leaving you only worrying about the phrasing, musicality, ie. the hard stuff!
