You should be able to determine the model from the bell size. In
those days 184's had 14.5" bells, 185's had 15" bells, 186's had
16.5" bells and 188's had 17.25" bells. At some point, the 186 bells
increased to 17.25" but I'm pretty sure they were still 16.5" in
1980.
