A well-known double reed concern, Mid-West Musical Imports, has an oboe reed shaper tip (These are expensive little milled pieces of steel that they use to determine the outside dimensions of their reeds.) comparison chart posted in conjunction with their website. I sure would like to see Dennis Bamber (WW/BW), Custom Music, Dillon, Tuba Exchange, Mr. Fedderly, or anyone else take on this project for tuba mouthpieces.

I guess that you can tell that I am just as interested in this as you are. All of my mouthpieces are custom made, and the only thing that I know to do is to tell the guy, "Copy THIS cup shape, copy THIS rim contour, copy THIS top-of-cup width, make the throat .XXX", and I will finish out the backbore, myself". It would really be nice to have some exact diagrams to refer to.
