When I played Mirafones and that "type" of tuba,
I started on the C4, but fairly quickly moved to the C3,
which (as I recall) had a VERY similar rim but a deeper
more funnel-like cup. I prolly played on the C3
for 5 or 6 years, then my teacher suggested the Rose Orchestra
which later became the C9. THIS mouthpiece worked VERY well for me
on my large .890-ish bore Cerveny/Ziess (BBflat) as well as on my smallish
Mirafone BBflat 184. I still use this mouthpiece on my B&M now, and have
only recently started to wonder if its time to consider another mouthpiece
for me and this horn. At any rate, suggest the C3 or C9 as good replacements
for the C4 ...

Regards to all,
