Don't sweat this. If this is not causing a big problem, you will likely make things worse trying to figure it out. Your sound may have improved with your nose held due to the change of your oral cavity. My bet is this will go away as your playing matures (the sudden blasts of wind playing marching bass lines may cause weaknesses to show up). Focus on the basics and I believe this one will simply go away.
