Yes, it is a tuba-euphonium double.

There is one particularly high euphonium part (either G# or A#... ' can't remember) that serves as a harmony part to the French horn. This is during a very dramatic moment in the show.

Right after the high euphonium part, you'll immediately be expected to play a loud "scary" low D (five ledger lines) on the tuba. The way that I did it was:

as I was urgently setting down the euphonium and grabbing the tuba, I yanked the mouthpiece out of the tuba, covered the back end of the mouthpiece with my pinky finger and buzzed the low D on the mouthpiece. I had about one extra second after that to insert the mouthpiece and blow the low D through the tuba on cue.

The entire score (for the "tour") is obvious seriously condensed. There are some other euphonium solos that need to sound nice. One is very early in the show.
