sorry. The scratches are either as deep - or almost as deep - as your finish (lacquer or silver plating). If you screw around with it in any way, you'll eventually be sorry.
I'm guessing your tuba is only a year or so old. If this is the case, another year of ownership will cure you of any concern regarding this.
