Would another problem with top loaders getting dented up be because most of them for there height have a smaller bell than the front loaders, which generally might be more stable sitting on the bell because of the bigger bell to height relation? I would also suggest like some of the others that a rotor horn could be easier to damage than a piston horn. And I thing the new King would make a great horn if a school system can afford them. Let face it if band programs were funded like football is around here we wouldn't even be having this discussion. Because you would have extra horns laying around in the event one got damaged and on top of that you would trade them all in next year for new ones. Maybe some day it will change but from the intertainment that is seen on TV and heard on radio, I don't think it will go that way for a while.
