I've use cap screw as screw's more often than as bolts. Especially "socket head cap screws", threaded portion, with long head, usually texturer for finger tighening, and a hex hole for an allen wrench. Typically they pass through a non-threaded, counter bored hole in one peice and into a threaded hole in the other.
So it's a screw, since there is now seperate nut used.
