While I'm sympathetic with your motorcycle desires, you might consider buying a used tuba that would be easily resold, instead of the cheapest one you can find. So spend $1500 knowing you can get it back, rather than $400 that will likely never re-sell in your lifetime. Then if you get tired of the tuba you can sell it and buy the motorcycle!
