I had a serious scooter wreck last summer, which rendered the last 2 joints of my right thumb non-functional. Since then, I've had to wrangle a way to make the 5th valve work, just using the last joint (next to the wrist). Solution: I've removed thumb rings from ALL my axes, and haven't missed 'em for a minute.
I'm with you, Jeff! What are they for, exactly??
