I own horns of both flavors and I have found that the silver horns tend to have a brighter tone to those of the lacquer finish type. I remember a while back testing several lacquer TU330CC's and then purchasing a silver one. When it arrived I was pleasantly surprised that it had a brighter tone than the ones I had tested, the silver one fit what I do like a glove.
