And as it would be very hard to restore this tuba to a level of being a worthwhile musical instrument, its only real value is that of being a proof, that tubas have been made with Wiener Pumpen. Most of us knew that already, so why pay $999 for that restatement of old knowledge?

$999 or very little more will get one a worthwhile low brass instrument in fine playing condition.

PS: Btw. "g.mu6" is identical with "Bretterbutzel". He certainly fulfils a role by finding all these old instruments on the less accessible markets of the now opened-up Eastern Europe. And his measurements of the tube lengths are good guidelines for determining the pitch of the instruments found. But as he is not a musician himself, he tends to overvalue some, if not all, of his findings.
