188's tend to have a little resistance in the lower register. However, this seems to work in the horn's favor to make it really project in the lower register. When you lean against the resistance, the horn seems to bark a bit more than a comparable sized CC.
If the 1291 is simply a 188 on 'roids with the same intonation and a little freer bottom end, expect a waiting list for that horns for a while to come...
