I started The Old Dam Community Band in Newburgh, Indiana a shade over four years ago. We are a 501(3)c and have the good fortune of owning a very nice library for such a young band. There are many levels of community bands. Some are totally amateur and others are quite professional. Much consideration for how you go about establishing your band will be based on what you want the band to do. There's no magic bullet.
