For all you band directors/band parents out there:
Do you have a formal grievance process for band members or band parents, or both? Would you send it to me so I can plagiarize it for our Band Boosters group? (see email above) I'm looking for steps for filing and resolving grievances and roles that parents, students, and director would take in such a process.
Had a parent lose her cool in a meeting and criticize student while his mom was in the room. Totally non productive and demoralizing. Trying to make something constructive happen out of the mess so that we can derail future incidents. Since the band is growing every year, this seems to be more and more important.
