What would folks give as their choices for best intonation on horns in all keys?
What are the downsides of your choices? You tend not to be able to have your cake and eat it! : )
Example:
Eb = B&H 981. Downside = irritatingly stuffy 4th valve register.
Bb = Mira 186. Downside = Not sure actually! : )
You get the idea!
I know Dr Young's crazy beast is reckoned (by him only perhaps) to have spot on intonation at the expense of decent sound...
