I just wanted to say I feel the same way about the ergos of the Willson. I mentioned in my post below that I can see how some have problems because it is a tall instrument. I think it is all in the approach to the instrument and we must have the same approach because I have not found a more comfortable tuba to hold. I have the stand and it does help for long practice sessions but I don't use it all the time either. The best part of the ergonomics for me is the easy access to the slides. I used to get tired from holding my old tuba (a PT4) because of the playing/slide position.
