A "major name" informs me that many of the intonation quirks of current Besson Sovereign horns could be minimized, if not totally cured, by reverting to the "euro size" leadpipe--I guess he means the one that came with the older Sovereigns. Another "major name" seems to believe this.

As a "major name" yourself (kissy, kissy), do you place any faith in this? Do you happen to know if the entire mouthpipe was different in the older Sovereigns, or just the receiver? Why might a different leadpipe affect the sixth partial issues (Eb, E, F above middle C)?
