Immediate love is no bad entry for a lasting love!

If scales (all), lip trills (all over the range), wide range rips, scales, odd key's tunes, fast tonguing response (all over the range), overall dynamic flexibility, easy note bending, no dead notes, normal intonation tendencies according to the Pythagorean system, good valves, good ergonomics, acceptable looks are all accomplished, then that instrument will make the final round.

I have been in the situation, that I have had to dismiss good instruments:

the Besson 967 euphs had a general tendency to die above the 9th partial and they tended to be too lightweight in sound. Final choice: Yamaha YEP641.

the Besson 983 Eb tuba in my hands had any desirable quality, but for true format and expansion of sound. Final choice: Besson 981.
