On Friday evening, March 5, 2004 The University of Central Arkansas will
present a concert featuring Sotto Voce, the country's premiere tuba-euphonium quartet. Starting at 7:30pm in Ida Waldran Auditorium. This fabulous ensemble will present a free concert of music written for them and arrangements of well known tunes.
The concert will be especially entertaining because it will also
feature the quartet with the UCA Symphonic Band, and Demondrae Thurman
and Michael Forbes (the principal euphonium and tubist) will also be
featured as soloists. Thurman will play Mantia's arrangement of All
Those Endearing Young Charms and Forbes will play From the Shores
of the Mighty Pacific by Herbert L. Clarke. The two will also be featured in a duet-Estrillita by Manual Ponce. The other Sotto Voce members are Patrick Schultz, euphonium and Nat McIntosh, tuba and the UCA Symphonic Band will be conducted by Dr.
Louis Young of the music faculty.
