I don't understand why tuning to play in a band would be any different than tuning to play in an orchestra. Given the two groups are generally pitched at the same frequency, why would there be any difference? Or are you saying one type of group usually tunes to a different standard pitch, which, when corrected with the main tuning slide, would cause the other valve and slide combinations to differ relative to each other?
