To answer your question, I don't know who really has the "best" tone quality. Instead, I think about who sounds good in the ensemble and fits in with the bone section, brass section, and entire orchestra. You might consider trying to fit in with whatever group you are with... and making that group excell. From your comment, it sounds as if you might be a person who tries to set himself apart from others. Try being a team member. It might just help you get better personally.
