Actually, a horn will play SLIGHTLY (very very) sharper at higher altitudes. You might want to try a few other mouthpieces other than your 6 1/2 AL to see if that helps. Also, since no one mentioned this, a horn with worn valves will play flatter than one without.

I guess I wouldn't go shaving until I'd checked the valve compression and maybe the waterkey cork.
