I'm well aware that my way of doing things with money is not for everyone. But I have no other person's income as a fallback, so I design my financial life for worst cast. I'm in a state of mild panic if things aren't paid for or if my liquid buffer zone won't allow me six months to find a job without losing anything.
And....I didn't think Rick and I really disagreed, just different ways of dealing with the same problem. He's more comfortable with debt than I am. Back when I was trying to make a living with music and lived below poverty level for about two decades....I developed some habits that continue even though I've changed financial strata since then.
