Ok, I have questions about the importance of the throat/backbore of a MP.

Let's assume all other things are equal--rim, and cup.

1. How does a throat size effect playing? A very open throat?? A very narrow, tight throat??

2. Also, the backbore taper/shape--how does this effect playing? I assume with a very open throat, there isnt much you can do with backbore, but with a narrow throat, how does the shape effect playing???

Just curious as to how important this end of the mouthpiece is, and exactly what it does to playing, and to what degree. THANKS!
