Yes, I know that. It's even more integrated than you say, because the same files will be used to program the computerized machines on the production line. My point was that tubas are still essentially built by hand, but they get their measurements from their CAD system; the CAD is used only for design.

By the way, over here in the civil engineering world, there's plenty of good-ol' drafting going on, even if we are using fancy tools to do it. Constructibility and engineering accountability are still major issues requiring discrete design plans that can be certified.
