I think you are comparing apples and oranges. I always suggest to instrument purchasers is you are buying a SOUND. Music is an AURAL art. If tuba X makes the sound YOU want to be making, then you probably will be happy with that tuba. I think the Mirafone 186 is the best all around tuba available on the market. I have little experience with the Conns but people who I know who bought them, are trying to sell them. That should tell you something. Everyone who has bought a Gronitz has held on to them. That, too, should tell you something.
