I completely agree. The same could be said about a focused sound. If you have any tension in your sound or it is uncentered, then piston valve horns will help to cover that up much more than a rotary valve horn. It's the ability to hide some of one's weaknesses that I believe has created the current trend toward piston valve instruments. Why work on it and fix it when you can buy a horn that will mask it?
