I feel your pain. It's hard to play when you're always worried about a sticky valve. I have a VMI 3301 which I believe has the same "Big valve" set as the MW horns. My first and second valves have given me problems since day one. Here is what I have done to date:

1) Stretched the springs a little to give a little more upward force.
2) Switched to Blue Juice
3) Had a tech lap the valves (cost $120 for two valves)

The lapping helped the most, but I might need one more go round on the 1st valve - I think I've seen others on this BBS say they've had horns that have needed it more than once. Also, don't forget to clean inside of the valve casing as well as the valve itself.

Good Luck,
Eric
