Get a copy of the "Brass Anthology" from the Instrumentalist Press. You'll find a bunch of stuff on the subject:
November, 1952 - "Dimensional Characterists of Brass Mouthpieces", Renold Schilke
November, 1952 - "Standardization and Classification of Brass Mouthpieces", Traugott Rohner (measures 213 different trumpet-cornet mouthpieces)
January, 1953 - "How to Measure a Brass Mouthpiece", Traugott Rohner
May, 1953 - "Problems involved in Standardizing Brass Mouthpieces", Bernard Fitzgerald
