I have a friend who carries his Willson 3050 with the shoulder strap, and hasn't had any problems. I also use the shoulder strap, but just to be safe, I hold on to the handle and the backpack straps. This also allows easy maneuverability (what a word) for passing through doorways and up stairs. I'm not worried so much about the stitching as I am about the little plastic clip breaking.
