In 14 years of using various Altieri bags for different horns, I have had zero problems with them. To me, they are more comfortable to carry than anything else I've used, and are quite durable. They offer a reasonable amount of protection for the instrument. Rudolf Meinl offers a bag that provides some more protection for the instrument, but is a bit more expensive, too.
I've enjoyed dealing with Donna Altieri because of her friendly, can-do attitude, and her ability to make a bag to fit anything. To date, she has provided me bags for three helicons, just from drawings and dimensions I sent her, and they all fit perfectly.
