As I understand it, I am the third owner. The person from whom I bought the horn bought it around 1990, and was told that the person from whom he bought it had been playing it for about 10 years- this is how I've "scientifically" estimated it's age! A tubist with whom I study from time to time played a piggy professionally in the 70s though, and a picture on his studio wall shows a horn with a simillar engraving on the bell, which is the only other evidence I have of it's original date-of-manufacture.

There is also the 13XXX serial number, but I don't know that Cerveny ever put serial numbers on their horns, so I'm guessing that this was probably added by someone later on for security purposes.
