Personally, I'm much more nervous sending a horn with no money sent to me (selling and fearing suffering any of the following: returned with nice new dents with the comment "This just isn't the horn for me.", plain-ol' non-paying deadbeats, people lying and just wanting to use an instrument for a gig or audition, etc.) than I am sending money and waiting for a horn (buying).
HEY, HERE'S AN IDEA...SEE IF THE PERSON WILL SIGN UP FOR PAYPAL . You can pay via credit card, the seller will have the cash, and you'll have the security (recourse) of a credit card transaction! (You don't have to be on eBay to to PayPal.) It will cost the seller a little bit, so you should be willing to cover those minor costs to the seller.
