I'd have to say the Concerto by Rob Jager is my favorite "originally for tuba" tuba solo. There's enough Italian and British (namely Holst) in the piece to keep both the performers entertained and certainly busy.

The other category is a tie between the Bach Sonata in Eb as recorded on "The Romantic Tuba", and the Adagio from the Limpid Stream by Shostakovich (if there is a need for absolutely one in a category, I'll go with the Shostakovich).
