I'm looking for a tuba for college that is an all around beast.
I want something that will hold its own in an orchestra but also I would like something that I could play in smaller ensembles... I love quintets. And to top it all off I love playing solo horn too.
I've been looking for several months now for a good CC Tuba and have it semi narrowed down to a Musica (B&S) 5 rotar valve CC Tuba or either the 52 or 56J Conn tubas (probably silver plated). Now I'm probably leaning more towards the Musica because of the rotary valves. Though Conn are consistantly good horns.
This is where I am curious as to what are some opinions out there who might own these tubas???
