You were right about that damn tuba solo in Babar. I could play it 5000 times (i think I did) without missing the Bb, but everytime I played with the group, I missed the note. I swear there is something hormonic about that piece that makes it impossible to hear a Bb before the entrance. I thought about testing a note in the lower octave, but it's very quite for about 16 measures right before the tuba solo, and I thought it would be distracting. I should have done it anyway. THe trombone solo is after tuba solo, by the way. The rest of the peice went great, but I think that one solo has my number. It didn't help that I went flying with a buddy of mine the day before, and my ears still haven't returned to normal. If I had thought there would be any way my ears would still have been plugged up more than 30 hours later, I never would have gotten in the plane. On the bright side, he did let me fly it, and I didn't crash, I saved the crashing for babar.
