Just this morning I explained again to someone that there are two "kinds" of musicians. There are the math/music types (we amateurs who have professions in engineering, computers, etc, as well as many of the pros) and then there are the art/music types. I have friends who are fabulous musicians who are mystified by the simplest algebra. Invariably, these people have that wondrous artistic sense that I admire so much. Now, some of the math/music types may also be artistic, but often the twain don't mix.
