After trying the suggestions below, perhaps a slightly shallower/smaller mouthpiece will give you a bit more control. The example I will use is a student of mine was trying a new Conn Helleberg and afer a month or so was still having trouble with clean attacks. He would get that warble to describe or miss notes. The Helleberg was larger than what he was using previously. I gave him a Helleberg 7B to try and within two weeks the clarity of his attacks and tone improved dramatically. That is just one example. Not everyone, myslef included, can use a larger mouthpiece. I think alot of it has to do with dental structure, mouth shape, etc.
