Looking at the website further, you find out that it's "celebrated annually on the first Friday in May." There's information about the history, etc., there, too. Yes, it's real. It's mainly celebrated in the little inner circle of tubists, however. I hit the campus up hard with signs last May...and stickers. It was fun just to get people to ask about it. I'm going to get the book for our tuba/euph quartet to play from this year.
