Listen to as much good music as possible and get ideas about how you want to play. There is a wonderful book entitled The Art of Musicianship by the late Philip Farkas that may be helpful to you. It is available from Wind Music Publications, 974 Berkshire Rd. NE Atlanta GA 30324 USA. The cost is 10.00 plus 1.75 for shipping in the USA. This is one of the few books that I've seen that addresses musicality,(especially phrasing) in a how-to, straightforward manner.
